The LORD spoke again to Moses, saying, "Speak to the sons of Israel, and say to them, 'The LORD's appointed times which you shall proclaim as holy convocations -- My appointed times are these:According to the Jewish calendar, days begin and end at sundown ('For six days work may be done; but on the seventh day there is a sabbath of complete rest, a holy convocation. You shall not do any work; it is a sabbath to the LORD in all your dwellings.' ... "
Lev 23:1-3
Kehilat HaMashiach celebrates shabat by meeting in several small dinner groups in people's homes. Each group is small enough to provide an intimate atmosphere in which everyone can participate and get to know one another. As an important part of each meal, those who wish to may share testimonies of God's work in their lives. Some shabat dinner groups also choose to have a discussion-oriented study from the Tenach (Old Testament) at the end of the meal. Copies of those studies can be found at the bottom of this page.
Currently, some of the shabat dinner groups are organized to meet on specific Friday evenings, as shown on the calendar. Other groups may meet at these and at other times, as we encourage congregants and visitors to celebrate shabat together in this fashion.
Liturgy for the meal and copies of the Bible studies can be found in the pdf files below. To read these files, you will need Adobe Acrobat Reader 4.0 or higher. If you don't have Adobe Acrobat Reader, then you can download it for free at Adobe's website.
