Welcome to the Messianic Prophecy Cave

Messianic Prophecy Cave
Messianic Prophecy Cave The cave contains scrolls of ancient messianic prophecies from the Tenach (Old Testament). Accompanying each prophecy are quotations from Jewish rabbinical sources that connote messianic interpretations to these Scriptures.
Jewish sources quoted include the Targums1, Talmud2, and Zohar. Some Historical information is taken from the Encyclopedia Judaica. The English translations are taken from the NASB3 and the Hebrew is taken from the Masoretic Text.

1 The Targums are ancient Aramaic translations of the Old Testament written between approximately 200BC and 100AD. The Targums provide much information about the translators' understanding of the original text, because they are a paraphrase of the original Hebrew (as opposed to a strict literal translation).

2 The Talmud is composed of the Mishnah and Gemmorah. The Mishnah contains oral traditions and was written down in approximately 150AD. The Gemmorah is a commentary on the Mishnah.
